Elizabeth comes to Fitness Physiques by way of New York City and an early career as a modern dancer. She was first introduced to Classical Pilates while studying for a Fine Arts degree at New York University Tisch School of the Arts. It was extremely apparent how this method of bodywork was not only essential in Elizabeth’s life as a modern dancer, but also as a way to prevent injury through improving strength and flexibility in every part of the body.
Throughout the next 15 years, Elizabeth continued her Pilates practice in NYC with several early pioneers of the work, including Romana Kryzanowska, a former New York City ballet dancer and a direct descendant of Joseph Pilates.
After leaving the world of dance, graduate school and a second career as a child and family therapist, Elizabeth married and finally left NYC to raise a family in Westport Connecticut. Four years passed before Elizabeth relocated with her husband and three daughters to Cincinnati and has been living here ever since.
Elizabeth began her Balanced Body teacher training in 2010 studying under Nico and Amy Phillips of Fitness Physiques, as well as Troy McCarty of White Cloud Studios in Cleveland.
Elizabeth has completed her training on the Reformer, Trap Table/Cadillac, Anatomy, and Low Back Dysfunction and plans to complete her Balanced Body Pilates comprehensive training.
Elizabeth teaches a wonderful blend of classical and contemporary Pilates. “Teaching clients the invaluable skill of using their mind to concentrate deeply on how to use their bodies to build a strong, lean, flexible, and pain free body is an exciting goal and wonderful job”!
